Zoomworks & Film Athens Behind the Scenes

ZoomWorks is proud to announce that we are now a supporting member of Film Athens! Film Athens, a non-profit networking and support organization, has dedicated 10 years to help educate and promote growth of the film community and industry in the Athens area. They work with students, actors, local filmmakers and industry professionals by providing workshops, events and networking opportunities. We had a great time Tuesday night meeting with fellow members and actors at the networking social held at Highwire Lounge, and are excited to start working with the actors on headshots. Want to get into the film industry? Visit their website to find out how you can become a member and get updates on the latest events. Film Athens is now accepting music video submissions for the 8th Annual Sprockets Music Video Competition. If you’re interested, act fast! Deadlines begin April 1. ZoomWorks is happy to be a part of this organization and we can’t wait to see their upcoming events!

Don’t get us wrong….we don’t like to rush the years along. They’re going fast enough as it is, thank you. But this first quarter has really flown. We’ve had so much fun with all the different subjects:  races, food, precious newborns, silly kids, couples in love, beauty contestants, gorgeous models…..we’re always excited to see what we’ll be asked to shoot next!  Thank you all for coming back to us with your babies, your families, your friends, your true loves and your businesses. It keeps us on our toes.

Two Bright Lights 2013 Editor’s Choice Award

We want to send out a very special thanks to Two Bright Lights for awarding us the 2013 Editor’s Choice Award again this year!! ZoomWorks is always thrilled and honored to have our work noticed in a community that features such wonderful artists in the wedding industry. We are thankful that couples allow us to capture moments from their big day, all the while doing what we love in the process.

The Artistic Bride shoot at GMOA

Last week ZoomWorks creative team arrived at the Georgia Museum of Art to set up for the next chapter in our BridalStyle series. We were grateful that GMOA let us take over their amazing space for the day. The museum’s artwork provided an elegant backdrop for the shoot, along with beautiful floral arrangements created by Magdalena of European Floral Design.

This shoot’s theme explored “The Artistic Bride,” and how life can indeed inspire art.  Our models did a phenomenal job bringing that story line to life in elegant gowns provided by I Do, I Do Bridal Boutique.  Jeni created inspired works of art on each of the girls’ faces, adding to the Bride as Art motif.

Spending a day creating beautiful images, working with beautiful people, in a beautiful setting is why we love what we do.  Thanks go out to all who made it possible.

It’s so lovely when couples come to us with an organic idea that is fun and so very personal  The smell of popcorn and funnel cakes, the lights, the squeals of excitement from kids on the rides.  And of course the carousel horses…..a personal favorite.  Love under the ferris wheel!  Congratulations Casey and Adam.

ZW Shoots the Flagpole’s Favorites 2013 Issue Cover

ZoomWorks had an awesome time shooting the cover of Flagpole’s Favorites 2013 issue. It was a crazy day in the studio as Rhuben Williams showed off his muscular talents by lifting ‘model,’ Sean Wessling over his head effortlessly! Both of these men had just the right look to create Flagpole’s theme of a retro, old-fashioned Strongman cover. Each year, Flagpole readers cast votes for their favorite places around Athens ranging from restaurants and bars, to salons and massage therapists. The list goes on and on! We were so honored and excited to receive Athens’ Favorite Photography Studio award for the second year in a row! Take a look here  to see the list of winners!

If you are an engaged couple and are looking for that perfect fit for a photographer, please join ZoomWorks, along with fabulous other vendors, at the Foundry Park Inn this Sunday afternoon, from 2-5pm.  We will be in the Ballroom, sharing tips and advice for your wedding day coverage along with some great style content – our fabulous makeup maven, Jeni, will be with us to help you create a look for your personal bridal makeup.  And we have some lovely promotional items to extend to visitors at our booth.  Drop by….we’d love a chance to talk with your about your own wedding day dreams!

GMOA Gala Makes a Statement in Black and White

This years Georgia Museum of Art Gala fundraising event, The Elegant Salute, was spectacular as usual.  Cocktail hour kicked off with lovely music by The Dial Indicators.  Then guests were ushered into dinner at tables awash with blooms overseen by Alice Bullock and Ann Scoggins, florals compliments of Flowers, Inc. The divine cuisine and decor was provided by Epting Events. Afterwards, the Museum was transformed by Starr Wright of Digital Media and Light from monochromatic to brilliantly hued for the colorful (in more ways than one!) dance party with the Krush Girls DJ spinning the night away.

We always enjoy the amazing visuals, and get excited to see the tremendous support of Athens’ state of the art facility.

One could just keep the fabulous masks- created by local artist John Ahee-book a flight to Venice, Italy, and be ready for Carnivale!  Ciao!!
