Everyone is on Pinterest these days (yes, we admit to surfing it ourselves),but we’re seeing more and more instances of clients becoming overwhelmed by the Pinterest world. So many ideas and options, but so little time. And what ends up happening in many cases is that their focus is lost. It’s easy to do.

This couple didn’t let that happen to them. They researched, true, but they never forgot to come back to who they are. Love of the outdoors, simplicity, laid back approach to life – And it shows.

The details they pulled to include in this shoot were just that. Simple and laid back. And it all came together beautifully in one gorgeous concert of love and color.

Give yourself permission to streamline and be happy. Sometimes less really is more.

How do we love Halloween? Let us count the ways……….

Other than the first crisp mornings of fall, beautiful foliage brightening the trees and the smell of wood fires at night, we love October for Halloween!  We’re bad to put people in costume, as anyone who has worked with us over the years knows, and this holiday just legitimizes that addiction!  We will be posting some fun ideas, scary faces and of course, our Gothic BridalStyle Series for your entertainment.  What are you going to be this year?  Send us pics, we’d love to see your creations.  Better yet, stop by the studio in costume and let us capture it for the world to see!

You know how it goes……can’t wait until summer gets here and then can’t wait for cooler weather.  Happens every year.  Thinking about the fact that fall is officially upon us (where did summer go??), we were waxing poetically about the sights and sounds of summer…….the warm nights full of the aroma of jasmine and magnolia, fireflies and croaking frogs.  About how the days stretch long into the night, giving us what seems extra hours in the day.  As an ode to summer we feature the wedding of Chrissy and Ryan, held in one of the most beautiful gardens in Georgia – The Barnsley Gardens Estate.

You can see for yourself that the Bride was beautiful, the Groom handsome, and all the details perfect.  Loved loved the bright poppy colors of the flowers and the bridesmaids dresses against all the green.  The plans called for a wedding in the gardens behind the ruins, where everyone would sit dreamily watching the happy couple say their vows as the sun set slowly behind the mountains.

Well, Mother Nature had her own agenda, and it included rain.  And lots of it.  But the Bride as well as the Staff at Barnsley were prepared with a Plan B, and things got rolling in that direction.  At the last minute, we got a reprieve from the rain, just long enough to pull off the ceremony in the ruins.  We’ve shot at Barnsley many times before, but never a ceremony in the ruins.  It was amazing.  So intimate, so quiet and person.  Might be my favorite actual ceremony set yet.  We were able to get great shots because we, Jennifer, Shannah and I, were literally on top of them.

After the ceremony we had just enough light and dry weather to work with the couple around the grounds, giddy as they walked here and there oblivious of us or their guests for a brief moment.  The party started early and went late.  Great food, and music kept everyone busy for hours and hours.

When it was all said and done, the rain hadn’t hampered the fun or the energy……….goes to show that rain or shine, it’s all about the love, and sharing that special day with those closest to you.  Those that mean the most in the world.

Because many of the guests were staying on property, the party carried over after the ‘official’ exit.  Guess they just weren’t ready to leave each other or the great company of friends and loved ones.
What was the most fun you ever had at a wedding?

Editorial Gets Creative Juices Flowing

The four seasons have never looked so good……we completed our art project for this quarter over the weekend.  This is just a teaser of the day, which went over the top thanks to props and video from Russ Feltman at Image Studio, hair design by Stephanie of ALaFera Salon, art direction and makeup design by Marisu, Ariella, the python, Elizabeth and Isabelle, two amazing faces, and the photographers from ZoomWorks, Deanna, Jennifer and Shannah who captured it all on film (or should we say ‘digital’?)  The seasons are coming and they’re turning heads!!!!!!!

Urban Landscape Frames Athletes Perfectly

It was a hazy day, a slight chill to the air, and we were looking forward to meeting our new clients, Chase and John.  Their mom had already told us that sports were what they got ‘jazzed’ about, so with her input, we decided on an urban backdrop for the shoot.  Roaming the streets of Athens reminded us of how many great undiscovered places there are downtown if you’ve got the time to seek them out. Great plan, great day and great job guys.
