We are always saying ‘the visual story of your love starts with your engagement photos, which can be the foundation of art for your wedding day’, well Joi and Ben’s wedding is a perfect example of that. The couple shares a love of Athens and University of Georgia so we chose the UGA stadium for the location of their engagement photos. Then by incorporating the colors of the wedding (UGA Red & Black) we used those images to create a custom designed Save the Date magnet. The magnets coordinated with the invitations and helped set the tone for the classic Southern charm of their wedding.
Joi continued the visual love story at the wedding using photos for a tree of love…. 8×10 photos from their engagement session were hung from a beautiful old tree and the trunk was wrapped in ribbon attaching old family photos. It really was a family tree showing how their love has grown into something beautiful.
The wedding provided many opportunities for us to continue telling their story in images. From gorgeous flower details by Tammy Nance to the adorable “frog” cake by Cecelia Villivices Cakes, every detail told a bit about the couple. They even chose a unique way for their guest to share with them. A rock garden of message written by the guests replaced the traditional guest book and will be a special reminder of their friends and family. The couple even incorporated their love of the Athens band Widespread Panic by turning the outdoor dance floor and side of the historic Taylor Grady House into a visual light spectacle by Liquid Lux Light Design worthy of any Panic show.
We had a wonderful time getting to know this amazing couple and we look forward to continuing to tell Joi and Ben’s visual love story as their journey continues.
